The Kingsway, Swansea - Project Update

Writer: CMB EngineeringCMB Engineering

Now 10 months into the development of The Kingsway in Swansea City Centre, our site team are making good progress on this brand-new high-tech office development that will provide opportunity for 600 jobs in central Swansea.

CMB secured the M&E contract for this development through Principal Contractor, Bouygues UK, at a valuation of £5 Million.

The 114,000 square foot development spans across five storeys and will consist of commercial office space for start-ups and tech-based businesses. It will also benefit from state-of-the-art digital connectivity, a roof terrace and balconies overlooking the city centre and Swansea Bay.

The Kingsway aims to be carbon-zero upon completion, in line with the City’s goal of improving and maintaining their sustainability initiatives. As well as considerations made on its environmental impact, it is also estimated to bring in an incredible £32.6 Million to Swansea’s economy each year, being of benefit to surrounding businesses also. This is yet another positive step in the wider development of the The Kingsway, which has seen a great deal of funding and improvement in recent years.

CMB have so far carried out the sprinkler pipework and storage tank, cold water pipework, ventilation ductwork, hybrid VRF containment and pipework and electrical containment and wiring.
