CMB Engineering are proud to be delivering the full £5.3 Million Mechanical and Electrical contract for Swansea Hub – a multi-purpose community facility being developed in the heart of Swansea.

The development, boasting 7,255 square metres of space, will provide a wide range of essential public services in one central location, working to significantly enhance community engagement, education, employment and preservation of heritage.

The building will host various organisations such as Careers Wales and Housing Opportunities, providing resources to those seeking employment and accommodation support. This incredible building will also include private interview rooms, Citizens Advice Bureau services, a children’s library with sensory areas designed to support neurodivergent children, and the relocation of Swansea University’s Miners library, which will educate the community on the city’s mining heritage. Further enhancing its community value, the Swansea Hub will also offer public library spaces, exhibitions, conference rooms and a café.

Since starting on site in July 2024, the project team is now focused on completing second and final fix activities, alongside rigorous systems testing, as the project moves toward commissioning and handover.

The Y Storfa project represents a key milestone for CMB Engineering and its commitment to delivering excellence in building services engineering. As the majority of building services will remain on view, a high-quality finish is essential, demanding exceptional attention to detail from all on-site teams.

“As we approach commissioning, our team remain focused on precision, safety, and quality,” said Peter Davies, CMB Engineering Director.

CMB are excited to play a central role in this development, and it reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to future focused public initiatives. We look forward to handing this project over to Swansea Council later this year.
