Job Title: Mechanical Contracts Manager

Department: Contracts

Location: Swansea Office

Contract: Full Time

Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

THE JOB

As our Business continues to grow, we are looking for a Mechanical Contracts Manager to join an established Team.


As a Mechanical Contracts Manager, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and management of M&E contracts from inception to completion. This role requires strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage multiple M&E contracts simultaneously, ensuring compliance with specifications, regulations, and company standards.

  • Lead project delivery teams, providing technical and managerial support throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage contracts, variations, and commercial documentation.

  • Monitor project progress, cost control, and resource allocation to achieve performance targets.

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure all work is completed in accordance with health & safety requirements and relevant industry legislation.

  • Provide accurate reporting on project status, risks, and commercial performance.



WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven experience as an M&E Contracts Manager or similar role within the building services sector.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, regulations, and industry standards.

  • Excellent project management, organisational, and leadership skills.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage budgets, contracts, and change controls.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to build productive relationships at all levels.

  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, construction management, or equivalent.

  • Full UK driving license.

  • Motivated individual that can work as part of a team and to their own initiative.

  • Ability to be proactive with tasks and duties

  • Committed to following procedures and ensuring tasks are fully completed.

  • Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail

  • Ability to use own initiative within the parameters of the role.


DESIRABLE / BENEFICIAL

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Contracts Manager in a construction or building services contracting environment.

  • Strong knowledge of Mechanical systems, materials and installation practices.

  • Familiarity in construction software (e.g. Bluebeam, Procore, Revizto, etc.)

  • Excellent understanding of construction codes, regulations and safety standards

  • Experience in setting up and using electronic document management systems.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
