KLA UK - Project Update

Updated: Nov 12

This week, we visited the KLA UK R&D and Manufacturing site where we are working as the specialist fitout contractor and our project team have made great progress since the last project update in May.

The Manufacturing cleanroom is progressing on schedule with raised access floors and ceiling grids and partitions all installed, whilst final fix items such as the fan filter units, lights and sprinklers are currently being fitted. The cleanroom is divided into build bay and test bay areas - the build bays offer 34 table lifts (pictured below) and the test bays benefit from bespoke service pillars and floor service boxes, which safely provide services such as Argon, Nitrogen and Oxygen to the works areas.

The BU cleanroom is also progressing well on the first floor with raised access flooring nearing completion and final fix commencing in the next week. The supply AHU’s are now online with the enhanced Protocol levels to the clean spaces. A great project milestone was also reached earlier this month with the installation of the 22m High Gas abatement exhaust stack.

Testing, commissioning and flushing of the wet systems has commenced, following completion of the PCW, heating, chilled water, sensible cooling and the industrial cold-water system. Electrically, second fix is nearing completion with termination of the external resin buzz bar from the transformers to the building and gas bunker. This is now tested, live and controlled under CMB SSOW.

The sustained high standards of H&S, cleanliness, quality and progress on the project is down to the hard work and diligence of the CMB Project team and our trusted team of subcontractors.
