Earlier this year, CMB won the Mechanical contract for the new Gwent Police Station base in Llanfoist, Abergavenny and last month our site team commenced works on the project. The building will be a division of the Gwent Police Hub and will be used as a base for police officers while away from the main headquarters and will be operational 24/7.
The project has utilised low carbon options for the domestic hot water by using an air sourced heat pump to provide the bulk of the domestic hot water. The main source of heating to the building will be provided using air conditioning and the building is ventilated using heat recovery units.
With Willmott Dixon as the Principal Contactor, we are also working on site with our partners: UK Vent Ltd, Poplar insulation Ltd, Snap Services Ltd and BMSi Ltd, and would like to pass on our thanks to the efforts put in by all parties so far.
We are currently in the first fix stage of the project and will be moving to second fix shortly.
