GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND
Guide Dogs provides a wide range of services for children and young people, including mobility and life skills, large print books and grants for specialist technology.
HOW DID CMB CONTRIBUTE?
In October 2019, CMB sponsored the lifetime of a beautiful Guide Dog who we named Ernie.
Ernie was born on May 13th 2019 and we receive regular 'pupdates' from Guide Dogs Wales with how Ernie is getting along. Unfortunately, Ernie later failed his training, as had hundreds of Guide Dogs who were dramatically affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Guide dogs typically train around 1,500 dogs a year however during the first 12 months of the Pandemic, only 300 dogs successfully completed their training.
Guide Dog's For The Blind knew that we really wanted to help with a dog for a visually impaired person and they were kind enough to allow us to sponsor another puppy... and then came Ollie!
Ollie is a black Labrador, born November 2021 and has just begun his training. Just like Ernie, the name was picked by the staff and we are wishing him the best of luck during his course. You can read more on this through Ollie's 'pupdates' below.
