Last Thursday, we were delighted to welcome members of the UK Semiconductor Advisory Panel on a tour of the new KLA manufacturing research and development facility in Newport to showcase the ambition and future plans for the South Wales cluster. The panel was established by the UK Government to “ensure a stable supply of chips and to protect the UK from national security risks associated with semiconductor technology.”
This visit follows Chloe Smith, MP for Norwich and Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, who visited five of CMB’s semiconductor compound facilities in South Wales earlier this year.
We had some great feedback from the panel who were excited to see the early stages of construction on this complex development.
