We are pleased to share the latest update on Fairwater Community Campus, as we enter the final phase of delivery. With just a few months remaining until completion, works across the site continue to progress at pace.

Installation and construction activities within Riverbank and Woodlands Schools are now largely complete. The focus has shifted to final decorations, cleaning, snagging, and commissioning activities to prepare the buildings for occupation. The testing and commissioning phase is a critical stage of the project, bringing the building to life and ensuring that all systems operate as intended, providing a safe and fully functional environment for future users.

During June and July, we will welcome future pupils and staff to both Riverbank and Woodlands as part of a programme of transition visits. These sessions are an important part of managing changes and helping children and staff become familiar with their new surroundings ahead of occupation.

Following the removal of the temporary Cantonian High School buildings earlier this year, the remaining areas of the campus have now been fully released for construction. This has enabled significant progress on the external works, including the Enterprise Hub (‘Pontio’), Woodland’s 7-a-side all-weather pitch, outdoor therapy and play areas, access roads, and perimeter fencing. These elements now represent the largest remaining package of work and are the primary focus as we move towards completion.

As we enter the final months of the project, continued progress on the external works will become increasingly visible. Key milestones include the removal of the main site offices in July, transitioning to a smaller site setup, completion of the ALN drop-off loop, and the final phases of planting and landscaping across the campus.

We look forward to sharing further updates as we approach completion and prepare to hand over these exceptional new facilities.
