Pen Y Dre High School - Project Update

Following our last project update in May of last year, we recently took a visit to the award-winning Pen Y Dre High School in Merthyr Tydfil, which is being refurbished on behalf of Merthyr Tydfil County Borough Council and where CMB are carrying out the full Mechanical contract.

Since our last update, we have now successfully completed Phases 1, 2, 3, and 6 of the High School, providing full mechanical services for each stage. We’re pleased to report that these phases are now fully operational and in use by the client, including the swimming pool, changing rooms and shower rooms.

Phase 5 is now also underway, with first fix in progress and back of house kitchen now complete and in active use by the school. This phase includes the installation of a dedicated Air Source Heat Pump systems to supply hot water to the kitchen. Meanwhile, Phase 4 is scheduled to commence in October and will add additional classrooms to the school.

It's great to see students now actively learning in the new space and we look forward to full handover in the next 6 months.
