Mental Health Awareness Week At CMB

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week this year, we invited The Lighthouse Charity (an organisation we’ve recently become a company supporter of) to KLA and Fairwater Community Campus to speak with our teams about the vital support they provide. Lighthouse offers 24/7 emotional, physical, and financial assistance to individuals and families working in the construction industry because “no construction worker or their family should be alone in a crisis.”

Andy, Fergus, Sam, Lee and Rob delivered fantastic and thoughtful talks to our two site teams about the importance of looking after your mental health, recognising when it’s time to reach out for help and even detailing their own experiences.

We know that there’s still stigma around mental health in the construction industry, and that’s why we’re reminding our staff, and the wider industry, that it’s okay not to be okay, and it’s always okay to ask for help.
