In 2022, we finished the second phase of the IQE Semiconductor Compound in Newport where we undertook the 3-year project as Main Contractor to install 10 production bays. This was the second major project stepping into the semiconductor and cleanroom world and we are pleased to announce that IQE have since asked us to continue working alongside them on this development, adding a further 2 production bays to the existing facility.
Working as Principal Contractor, CMB’s team have run the £2M project and are currently in the commissioning stages of 2 new reactors. As part of this contract, we have installed new gas bunkers, ventilation stack, process gas lines from the gas bunker to the production bays, AHU’s, new process cooling plant room, and 3 abatement units.
We’re honoured to be involved in the growth of the semiconductor industry within the UK and are pleased to add yet another development to the growing list of projects we have undertaken in the semiconductor and cleanroom sector.
