CMB West Upgrade Local Charity Facilities
CMB West are proud to have recently funded and completed an upgrade to the toilet and welfare facilities at local charity Friends of the Young Disabled (FOYD).
FOYD is a Swansea based charity, established in 1985, which provides a centre for young disabled and children to meet and use its facilities to promote learning opportunities, engage in social activities and have fun.
The building, The Gordon Moore Centre located on Carmarthen Road, which is fully accessible, is situated on 2 floors and offers a number of activities including art, computers and a play area. Different groups use the building on certain evenings during the week.
CMB West were involved in replacing four DOC M disabled access toilets along with the addition of a urinal and a wash hand basin to the Male toilet areas. The existing toilet cubicles were also modified/reconfigured to ensure each facility is now fully compliant with current Part M regulations.
CMB West Director Peter Davies said: “We were looking for a local charity that we could assist in a practical way and when we heard about FOYD and visited the premises, offering to upgrade the original aging toilet facilities was an obvious choice. The staff and volunteers do a great job to ensure this facility is available and we are glad we could assist them in a small way.”
Hilary Hammett, Vice Chair of Trustees said “CMB West have done a fantastic job in bringing our facilities up to date. The whole job was done so quickly, professionally and cleanly, their staff are first class, they did more than we could have wished for. Thank you so much”
FOYD have a large building and we are sure would be delighted if any other companies would like to offer their time/expertise to make other improvements or provide equipment etc, if you would like to help then please contact the charity directly on email@example.com, or via Nadine Davies on firstname.lastname@example.org, who would be delighted to facilitate further works with FOYD.
Additional thanks go to BSS Swansea for the donation of pipe, valves and fittings to assist in this worthwhile project.
