Job Title: Junior CAD Technician

Location: Cardiff

Contract: Full Time & Permanent

Hours of work: Monday – Friday 8:30am to 5:00pm

THE JOB


As our Business continues to grow, we are looking for a Junior CAD Technician to join an established BIM Team in Cardiff.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their CAD career, who wants to develop within the Building Services Industry.

 

Working alongside experienced BIM Coordinators and Managers, you will be responsible for producing 2D Drawings and gradually develop skills in 3D Modelling and BIM, using Autodesk Revit.

 

The position plays a crucial role in ensuring the drawings produced for our projects are accurate, efficient and completed within the established parameters of the project.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Produce and update 2D Drawings using AutoCAD.

  • Assist with the preparation of Building Services Drawings and Layouts.

  • Support the BIM Team with model updates and drawing production.

  • Help manage drawing revisions and project documentation.

  • Learn and develop Revit Modelling skills as part of your role.

  • Work closely with Contract Managers and Coordinators to ensure drawings meet project requirements.

  • Ability to use own initiative within the parameters of the role to resolve a problem.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Friendly positive attitude.


DESIRABLE / BENEFICIAL


  • Experience in AutoCAD

  • Interest in the Construction or Building Services Industry

  • A Technical Qualification from an established field (Engineering, Architecture, Design & Technology, Building Services etc.) – desirable but not essential.

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint)

  • Full UK Driving Licence (essential)
