Fitzalan High School

CMB are now 6 months into the first fix element of MEP installations on the new 3-storey Fitzalan High School under construction adjacent to Leckwith Athletics Stadium. The new school will accommodate up to 1,850 pupils and includes sports pitches and an indoor swimming pool which the public will be able to use outside school hours.

Installation of first fix M&E services is progressing well with the Primary Supply and Extract Ductwork, LTHW, VT & CT Systems and DH & CWs having been installed and tested on ground, first and second floor levels. This has allowed our thermal insulation team to commence the insulation of these services.

CMB Renewables are progressing with the first fix containment and refrigerant pipework through ceiling voids back to risers. Meanwhile, CMB Bristol are well underway with the installation of the electrical containment runs through all levels having installed the majority of conduit drops on levels 1 and 2 and are currently progressing on the ground floor in line with the dry wall installations.

Mechanical Ventilation Plant and Condenser Units are being craned to the roof top plant deck this week with a further crane lift due in July. During the coming weeks, External CWMS and Fire Main will be installed with the Main School Boiler Plantroom, CMB Bristol wiring installations due to commence early June.

Thank you to our CMB team who have been working hard on this project, as well as our partners Poplar Thermal Insulation and CFS who are well under way with the sprinkler system installations.
