Aaron Tipping bagged a brilliant third in the men’s Giant Slalom event at the recent Welsh Alpine Championships held in Champery–Les Crosets, Switzerland. Skiers from around the world battled it out for the title and it was Aaron who finished as the highest ranking Brit after a season’s best performance.
After a promising debut season in 2005/2006, Aaron’s progress in the senior ranks was halted by a devastating injury the following campaign. Two broken bones in his lower leg put Aaron out of competitive action for two years, jeopardising his future in the sport. Thankfully, hard work and determination resulted in a full recovery and Aaron returned to the sport for the 2008/2009 season where he improved his points in three disciplines.
This latest success is Aaron’s first podium finish since his injury and hopefully marks the start of many more highlights for the young sportsman.
CMB sponsor Aaron to help fund the travel and training necessary to compete at the highest level. For more info visit Aaron Tipping’s website.
